About
Hello and welcome to Stoat Manor Studio! My name is Ellen and I create one-of-a-kind and small batch jewelry from broken china.
My journey began following a cross-country move. I was unpacking my grandmother's china and was heartbroken to find a few of the pieces broken. I couldn't bring myself to throw them away, so they sat in a cupboard until I decided that I would try to make myself a necklace from one of the pieces. After a lot of trial and error and a ton of YouTube videos, Stoat Manor Studio was born! Along with the one-of-a-kind and small-batch pieces I have in the shop, I also work with clients to make custom pieces from their own broken heirloom china, which is one of my favourite parts of my job!
Each piece of jewelry I make is lovingly crafted from china that has been collected from around PEI and Nova Scotia, Canada. I work with damaged pieces of china that have outlived their usefulness and I slowly cut and shape each piece individually, using traditional glassworking and lapidary tools.
My shop is driven by a passion for creativity and a connection to the past. I’m constantly testing new ideas and designs, while embracing the history of the china that I use.
I put my heart and soul into every piece I make, and my goal is to make sure my customers are delighted with their jewelry and feel special every time they wear it.
Thank you for choosing Stoat Manor Studio! I hope you enjoy exploring my unique collection of jewelry crafted from broken china.
Ellen xx
